LEARN TO QUILT - CUTTING & PIECING SQUARES (beginners)

$60.00 + HST
Optional: $30.00 kit fee that contains fabric to make one 3 colour small wall hanging or quilt 30” x 36”
You’ve always wanted to make a quilt and need to know the basics. This class is for you! Participants will learn accurate rotary cutting techniques, piecing using accurate ¼” seams, and nesting seams for accurate points.
Recommended Supply List
- Sewing machine
- ¼” foot for your machine (essential for accurate piecing)
- Scissors
- Sewing gauge
- Stitch ripper
- Rotary cutter
- Rotary cutting ruler (recommend 6” or 6.5” x 24
- Rotary cutting mat
- Wool mat
- Small iron
- items are essential tools for class. Please contact the instructor if you do not have the
required tools. The instructor has a limited number of tools available for participant use.
If you are purchasing your own fabric:
EACH OF THREE COLOUR FABRICS
3/8 yard (make sure cuts, when purchasing, are straight or purchase ½ yard to be certain
you have enough to cut two STRAIGHT 6.5” lines)
Or
.4 meters (again make sure the cut allows for 2 STRAIGHT rows 6.5” wide)
Fabric @ 42” wide with selvedge
